Audience: The audience of this article would be readers interested on the debate of should prisoners be let out of prison at an old age. It can also be anyone that just wants to know more about what is going on in the world.

Purpose: The purpose of this article is to inform people that there is a debate on whether prisoners should be released at an old age. There are many people that say they shouldn't but many say they should. Keeping a state inmate in jail cost a lot of money for taxpayers. For one inmate it cost $55,000 a year. This amount grows as the inmates get older. In New York itself, it has more than 800 prisoners who are 65 or older. Just think of the amount of prisoners across the United States and how much it cost.

Subject: The subject of this article is should inmates be allowed to get out of prison when they are an old age? To me I think they shouldn't because you must have done something really bad to get there in the first place. Say an inmate killed someone, they might have learned their lesson, but that could never take back them killing that person. Just like the people related to the people killed and the lifelong pain that they have to go threw with a loved one killed, that person should have to go threw the pain with being in a cell the rest of their lives.
